Review/Analysis

Murder/assassination incidents have maintained a steady rise in recent weeks, even as the authorities remain determined to put an end to these acts with major arrests of suspects, while others remain at large. These incidents were recorded across various regions of the country.

The military troops in their continued battle to keep the nation free of all traces of terrorism, successfully repelled an attack on Maiduguri by suspected Boko Haram insurgents with an enormous killing of members if the sect. The north-east region continues to bear the brunt of these terrorist activities.

Government security agencies have continually urged residents to remain alert to their environment and identify threats, strange behaviour or movement, which should be promptly reported to the appropriate authorities for investigation.

Villeworth maintains her call for all to see safety and security as priority. Everyone is involved.
