Magistrate Adeola Adedayo of an Igbosere Chief Magistrate’s Court, April 13, raised an alarm over alleged threat to her life and that of her family in a case of illegal possession of firearms levelled against two brothers brought before her. The magistrate alleged that the case of the two brothers, Sulaiman Sanusi and Kehinde Sanusi, had exposed her life to danger. She said the two defendants had written three petitions to her, while the complainant had also written one over the issue. Adedayo also alleged that the defendants, in their petition, stated that they knew where she lived and the people who do come to visit her. During the proceeding, the magistrate also threatened to charge the defendants’ counsel, Gbolu Agbaje-Akadiri, with contempt of court due to his disposition to the court. The arraignment of the defendants received a setback due to the defect on the Directorate of Public Prosecution, DPP’s legal advice, as what to do with the second defendant was not clarified.
