Review/Analysis

Murder/assassination, which took a downward toll, last week, took an upward plunge this week as stories of murder fill the dailies. Though notwithstanding, the police are seriously on the lookout for suspected bandits. More of this was witnessed within the south-south, south-east and a few records in the south-west region of the country.

With the military all out to rid the country of all traces of terrorism, the activities of Boko Haram insurgents have drastically reduced, with just trickles of attacks in some places in the north-east. It is also reassuring as the military, in yet another attempt to purge the country of terrorist activities, have recaptured more towns from the insurgent groups. The north-east witnessed more of these activities.

Robbery, also maintaining its pace at the top of the crimes index with few stories of robbery. The police, in an attempt to flush these criminal gangs out of their hiding, have successfully apprehended major suspects.

Kidnap incidents remain laudably low, while security agents made major arrests of suspected criminal gangs.
